Civic Duty
by PamFord Davis Today is a big day in America; we have the opportunity to vote for the candidates of our choice. I worked the polls in Florida for city elections. To my surprise, senior citizen voters outnumbered other age groups. Some were feeble and needed canes or walkers to maneuver across the large room to the voting booths. Yet, they felt casting their votes was a civic duty. . In addition to voting, we are to pray for our leaders. "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1Timothy 2:1-4 NKJ)."
