Monday Morning Blues on a Thursday Afternoon
by PamFord Davis Multitudes are afflicted with melancholy and mope around on this Monday morning. There are varied reasons. They may have experienced such a nice weekend they hated it to end. On the other hand, they may feel twinges of guilt because they left needed household chores unfinished. At any rate, despondency camps on their doorstep alongside the morning newspaper. I fast-forward to later in the week, when I come down with a severe case of Monday blues on a Thursday afternoon. I always was a late bloomer. Mom believed that the cause was my month early premature birth. I lagged behind, not even walking until fourteen months old. Bummer. God gives the perfect remedy; I reach for a praise pick-me-up! "I will praise the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. I will boast in the LORD; the humble will hear and be glad. Proclaim with me the LORD's greatness; let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces will never be ashamed (Psalm 34:1-5 HCS)."
