Latent Potential
by PamFord Davis It was elementary school report card day. I read my grades; my mother read my grades. The grades were self-explanatory. I did quite well but there was room for improvement. Frequently, teachers would leave brief comments. 'Pamela could do better if she would apply herself.' She or he saw latent potential. God sees untapped potential in his sons and daughters "My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; if thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:1-6 KJV)." I apply myself; I go to the source of treasured wisdom and knowledge. "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father and of Christ; in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2-3 KJV)."
