Brylcreem, Used Sparingly
by PamFord Davis

The Brylcreem advertising campaign and catchy jingle was brilliant. The men using their hair cream could use it sparingly; only a little dab was necessary. In the late 1950's, a boyfriend of my oldest sister Donna came to our home. When sitting on our living room couch, he leaned his head back against the wall.

He had used so much hair tonic that he left grease stains. As I recall, Mom voiced her disapproval. Personally, I think the Brylcreem rule applies to makeup; apply sparingly.

I am grateful to God for His gift of wisdom; I ask for wisdom and He applies liberally.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind (James 1:5-6 NKJ)."
