Lawbreakers
by PamFord Davis As I recall, Mom and Dad never participated in TV Nielson Ratings. Any rating service would have revealed their loyalty to local news broadcasts on WSYR and WHEN in Syracuse NY. My parents relocated in South TX following retirement. There, they changed allegiance to KENS TV news, in San Antonio. News is quite predictable; violent crime and scandals make big headlines and increase ratings. They are also an indicator of increasing wickedness. Consistently, news anchors reported overnight San Antonio murders. Dad wore a General Electric security badge for close to twenty-five years. Knowing Dad, the repetitive news of lawbreakers riled him. "Indignation has taken hold of me because of the wicked, who forsake Your law (Psalm 119:53 NKJ)." The Psalmist's indignation for wickedness grew out of his reverence for God and His law.
