Cafeteria Style
by PamFord Davis

It's been quite a while since I have eaten in a cafeteria. Of course, my first cafeteria encounters were in elementary school and they were only on Fridays, because Dad got his weekly salary the night before. As I recall, there were no 'free' school lunches back in my day. There is a Piccadilly Cafeteria in nearby Monroe; maybe it is time to file through the line.

The variety from which to choose is the advantage of cafeteria dining. The customer heaps selections on their tray and pays at the register, a nice idea. Let's see, I'll take the chicken-fried steak with white gravy, turnip greens, home fries and peach cobbler
Cafeterias are fine when deciding to eat out.

Cafeteria style Christianity is deadly.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:3-5 NKJ)."

The time has come.
