GOD VS FOOTBALL
by Lewis E. Thomas We buy our tickets early in the season months ahead of the game! We pray that this will be the year our Team rises to fame! "We will sit in the cold, the heat and we will sit in the rain!" We will yell and shout for our Team with absolutely no shame! We have "no problem lingering" when the game goes into "overtime"! While America's Churches are guilty of a very serious crime! Our Churches put the Holy Spirit on a "short schedule" to fit our "fleshly" ways! We must "limit" the Holy Spirit so we can end our Church Service with no delays! If the Church AC should go out we will stay home and watch our TV. Those hot pews are not a place that we want to be! The Modern Church "will not tolerate" a Service going into "overtime"! Her congregations are more concerned about where they are going to dine! Think of how different this whole world would be! If we "filled" our Stadiums to "Worship God" and "loved" to go into "overtime" on our knees! The Christians in Africa do put us American Christians to shame! They love God enough to worship Him for hours outdoors in the pouring rain! Are our hearts "more devoted" to the "things of this world that we love... Than they are to Jesus Christ who died on The Cross to show His love? Take a " long" look deep down into your heart where the Lord clearly sees... Do you get "more excited" over Jesus than you do over Tom Brady or Drew Brees? Lewis E.
