Total Darkness
by PamFord Davis

Blind, like deaf it is a general term.

Many senior citizens, including yours truly, are hard of hearing. We still hear a good bit of what is essential. An ophthalmologist may diagnose an individual legally blind; yet, he or she still has the advantage of limited vision.

The born blind population has never seen the light of day.

Though tragic, it pales in comparison to spiritual blindness on a global scale. Multitudes live in total darkness.

"But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and doesn't know where he's going. Because the darkness has blinded his eyes (1 John 2:11 HCS)."

It need not be permanent

"He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves. In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13 HCS)."
