Border Collie's Unborn Pup Speaks From Inside the Womb
by Greg Miller

Baby the Border collie was preparing to give birth to her first litter of puppies.

Baby's mate, Bobby, was just as excited. "I can't wait to be a dad!" Bobby barked.

"And I can't wait to be a mom!" Baby replied. "This will be our first litter of pups, and I want to dedicate our babies to the Sovereign Lord even before they are born."

"Let's pray right now," Bobby suggested.

Baby reverently covered her eyes with her front paws, waiting for Bobby to begin the prayer. Bobby sat down next to Baby, tenderly placing his left front paw on her right shoulder.

"God, I thank you for my precious mate, Baby," Bobby prayed with a bold bark. "I pray you will bless each of our pups with good health, and a teachable spirit."

"And also bless them with a desire to honor and obey their mom and dad," Baby added.

Baxter and Bernadette, who owned Bobby and Baby, had been Christians for many years, and they were determined to serve Jesus with all their hearts.

When the couple's twins were born two years earlier, Baxter and Bernadette took them to church and dedicated them to God. "Bernadette and Baxter are good examples," Baby observed. "So I think we should dedicate our babies to the Lord now. I'm glad we're not waiting until they were born."

"So am I," Bobby smiled. "Being a dad is going to be such a marvelous experience. How much longer do you think it will be before the little bundles of joy arrive?"

"I've already had them inside me for about six weeks, so it'll probably be within the next two or three weeks," Baby replied.

As they were relaxing inside their dog house, Bobby and Baby heard the sound of an infant Border collie's voice. "Bow Wow! Bow Wow!" whimpered Bobby Jr. "Hi, mom. Hi, dad. I just wanted you to know I'm alive and well inside the womb. I'm looking forward to being born and living in your world."

"It should happen soon, probably no more than two or three weeks."

"That's right, son," said Bobby. "Then you'll start to grow up, and we'll have lots of fantastic times together."

"Of course, those fun times will be preceded by Obedience School," said Baby. "You must always do what your dad and I tell you to do."

"Always," Bobby agreed.

"You're the only one speaking, son," said Baby. "Are there any other baby pups in there with you?"

"About three, I think, mom."

"Are they boy puppies or girl puppies?"

"I'm not sure, mom, but they're not much like me, so I'm guessing they're girls.

"Is growing up and easy thing?" asked Bobby Jr.

"Much easier than for human babies, that's for sure," said Baby.

"What do you mean, mom?"

"For one thing, puppies don't have to wear diapers," laughed Baby.
