Ungrateful Spirit
by PamFord Davis "Despite all this, they kept sinning and did not believe His wonderful works. He made their days end in futility, their years in sudden disaster (Psalm 78:32-33 HCS)." To learn what the quoted 'all this' refers to, read the preceding verses, (1-32). God faithfully provided for His people during their wilderness journey; yet, they repeatedly sinned against Him, the Great I Am, their powerful deliverer from Egyptian bondage "How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness and grieved Him in the desert. They constantly tested God and provoked the Holy One of Israel (Psalm 78:40-41 HCS)." The authoritative words of Jesus brought victory over Satan and his temptations. "And Jesus answered him, 'It is said: Do not test the Lord your God.' After the Devil had finished every temptation, he departed from Him for a time (Luke 4:12-13 HCS)." How often do I grieve my Lord through unbelief and an ungrateful spirit?
