Secret Societies Are Dark
by Gregory John Monroe I was talking to a friend the other day and the CIA came up. We both agreed that its presence is necessary in the culture of this world. And we also decided that for it to be effective, there would have to be a need to keep some things in the dark; even from congress's oversight committees. Later, that got me to thinking about Christians who are members of secret societies like, for instance, the Masons. As with other secret associations, it too does all that it can to keep some things hidden. This, of course, is for the sake of its agenda. For instance, it's been said that within its ranks is a spiritual culture and worship that's contrary to Christianity, and that it's introduced as initiation to Masonic members who progress to the highest levels. This is according to a few outspoken former members. I don't know if that's true with the Masons or any other secret group. But what I do know is that over and over in the Bible, especially in the New Testament, it is said that believers are not to walk in darkness. We should walk in the light. We shouldn't be speaking secret oaths and swearing by things that are wrapped in secrecy. Jesus says let our yeas be yeas and our nays be nays. When we as Christians engage in secret things, to others we are operating in darkness. That causes doubt about our character and motives. To prevent that, we should be as open and transparent as Jesus is. His goals are clear to all. There isn't any hidden knowledge or path that is private only to a few. Jesus lays it all on the line. In John 15: 15, He said, "Henceforth, I call you not servants, for the servant doesn't know what his lord is doing. But I have called you friends; for all the things I have heard of My Father I have made known to you." Many will be shocked by Gregory's book, The Three Angels' Message. It ID's Antichrist and the "mark of the beast," and the role both are playing today in the end-time issue of worship. The book's biblical & historical proof can't be denied.
