in the wind
for You to understand the loss
I feel -- experiences gone astray,
promises unfulfilled
and best intentions masked
as excuses among forgotten dreams.

I know He cares for me, sustains me
and I do remember days of momma
crying and saying, "Keep the Lord
in your heart," and I strive to do so.
