Be Praised!
by PamFord Davis

"O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
Awake, lute and harp!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples,
And I will sing praises to You among the nations.
For Your mercy is great above the heavens,
And Your truth reaches to the clouds (Psalm 108:1-4 NKJ)."

Oh, to have the heart of King David!

His heart was steadfast; his praise was spontaneous.

He used his voice to sing praises and instruments in creating music for his Master.

David did not restrict praise to private encounters with God. No, he praised the LORD publicly with full intent of impact to the nations.

Why?

He had experienced God's mercy and accepted truth.

"Praise the Lord!

Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord's name is to be praised (Psalm 113:1-3 NKJ)."
