HAMMERS AND SAWS
by Lewis E. Thomas Like and old stop watch counting down time! Hammers and Saws are doing the same in this rhyme! The "Scoffers" mocked and they made fun! As Noah and his sons worked hard in the sun! They cried, "Look at that old crazy goat! " With no water in sight he is building a gigantic boat!" "I have always said those religious folks are out of their mind!" "See how that crazy old Noah is wasting his time!" The Hammers and Saws sounded throughout the day. The Ark must be finished with no delay! As the Scoffers mocked and called Noah a crazy fool. They partied in the shadow of the Ark thinking they were cool! The Hammers and Saws sounded daily for 55-75 years. The time for the Flood was now very near! Animals from around the world came and entered the great boat! With all those animals inside would it even float? As the Scoffers partied and endulged in their sin. The Lord sealed the Ark shutting Noah and his family within! Then the rain came down hard for 40 nights and days! The Scoffers and unbelievers perished with their evil ways! Hammers and Saws fashioned a cruel and old rugged Cross! I will never know "how much" my salvation cost? Scoffers mocked Jesus as they drove nails through his hands and feet!
