THE EVIL SWORD OF GOSSIP
by Lewis E. Thomas Do you have a "Sword of Gossip" that you like to swing? Do you slice others up with words that deeply wound and sting? Do you try to justify your evil, verbal attacks? Do you say, " I'm just spreading the truth and the honest facts? It does not matter if your gossip is "true or not" to God above! God said Christians are to walk in perfect love! Have you used your "Sword of Gossip" to cut someone's reputation down? Do the Demons "rejoice" when you swing your poison Sword around? Should a Christian own a tongue or fountain that yields both bitter and profane? Should a Christian use their tongue to destroy another persons good name"? If we wield the "Sword of Gossip" we had better cast it into the Sea! If not, a "Sword of Gossip" will come to take a big slice out of you and me! I will close with this last thought that I'd like to share! Why don't we stop "all" our gossip and lift that person up in "loving prayer"? How would we feel "if we" were on the cutting end? Of a "Sword of Gossip" being wielded by one we called our friend? A "Gossiper" is a coward "being used" by Satan, the enemy of grace! A "Gossiper" will always attack you while hidden and never "face to face"! We must carefully weigh all our words through Matthew 12:37 before we speak them!
