WATCHING THE CLOCK!
by Lewis E. Thomas In the early days of the Church, worship and preaching lasted for "long" periods of time! But the Modern Church "watches the clock" which is the subject of this rhyme! The early Christians were on fire and "hungry for God" and spiritual gifts. But numerous times in the past there occurred a " GREAT RIFT"! Many modern Churches "Watch The Clock" and limit God to a "FIXED TIME FRAME"! The way they " limit" God and His Holy Spirit is a crying "shame"! Folks sitting in Church with their minds fixed on "where there going to eat" at noon! Focused on the "desires of the flesh" while the world is heading for doom! They pretend to love God with pathetic and powerless religious routines! As they "WATCH THE CLOCK" "eager to exit" Church to dine on their favorite quisine! They walk out of Church with empty hearts and empty souls! They know not they are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, naked, lukewarm, and cold! They have "lost their appetite" for God and holy things! They hunger and thirst for everything "but" the King of Kings! Oh, If our Churches would "never" allow a clock or time-piece inside! Then the HOLY SPIRIT could change the World and Jesus would be glorified! God could save multitudes if we did not limit His time! Think about that hard as you close this rhyme!
