A Force to be Reckoned With
by PamFord Davis There was no generation gap. Dad liked to watch the westerns; so did I. I was a buckaroo before bucking any authority of the older generation. This cowgirl was a faithful fan of Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy and Gene Autry. Saunter down to the stables and corral with me. Watch out for prowlers Rustlers have been causing a mess of trouble for horse owners. They are eating up the profits of the small ranches. The law has failed to find the culprits. At their wits end, ranchers and hands have bonded together as vigilantes. With their future at stake, they are vigilant in their efforts to seek and stop the enemy. How vigilant am I? There is an enemy, a force to be reckoned with. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen (1 Peter 5:8-11 NKJV)."
