The Rest of God

Hebrews ch 3:15

“...Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts....."

If you want to know real peace in your heart, then you must allow yourself to enter into His rest. Entering into His rest is a decision you make from your heart, to choose to abandon your own will and allow His will to dominate your thoughts. He has every intention of making your life joyful and meaningful, He will give you the resources to carry out His plan for your life.

Entering His rest means that you let go of your fears and anxieties and trust in His ability to solve every problem, and resolve every situation that life throws at you. When you seek His face, and surrender your own agenda to Him, He will make a way out of no way for you, and His solution will always be the best solution.

In Hebrews chapter 3 and 4, we see the consequences of going our own way and ignoring the promptings of the Holy Spirit. After Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, He found it was hard to lead a people who refused to understand how blessed they were and they always wanted to go their own way:

Hebrews Ch 3 verses 7-11

7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you hear his voice,

8
do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,

9
where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did.

10
That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’

11
So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”

When the Lord prompts you to do something, please listen to His voice. He is trying to lead you where you need to go, He is trying to protect you from what is coming in the future. He wants to protect and guide his people, because He loves them and wants to be with them forever. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior, then whatever is going on in your life, whatever circumstances you find yourself in will not destroy you. He will find a way to help you escape, or He will usher you through the problem to the other side. He will never leave you or forsake you.

The times are hard, and they will become harder, but the Lord has already provided the answer to the crisis: Jesus Christ. He will take care of you because you are His child, and He paid a dear price to redeem you, so be encouraged because He will never allow the enemy to defeat you if you listen and obey the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Do not provoke the Holy Spirit with your own spirit of rebellion, because let's be real, everything you can think of to solve the problem is not half as good as what He can do for you. And when He does solve the problem, it will bring joy to your heart and give Him the Glory. Please, let Him do for you what He has always wanted to do for His children, to show the depth of His grace, mercy, and love
towards you, because that's what a good Father does for his children.

If you are unsure about what the Lord wants you to do , just ask Him and pray, worship Him in His presence, and He will answer your questions and He will provide for your needs. There is nothing like entering His rest, and you will know what it is like to be happy and filled with joy in the toughest circumstances.

Thank You Jesus, for your love and mercy, and for allowing me to enter into your rest!
