“I’m so glad spring has returned,” Roscoe told Richard, his son.

“Why is that?” Richard replied.

“One reason is the flowers are growing again, reminding us of Jesus Christ, God’s son, being raised from the dead,” Roscoe smiled.

“A second reason is your mom’s birthday is during the spring season, and I enjoy helping her celebrate her big day.”

“Those are two great reasons, dad.”

“I have a third reason, too, Richard.”

“A third reason?”

“Yes. I enjoy watching you and your friends play in the local kids’ baseball league. I played on a kids’ team when I was little, and I learned valuable life lessons that still help me today.”

“What lessons did you learn, dad?”

“I learned a strong work ethic, that regardless of your job in life, it’s your responsibility to work as hard as you can. I learned the importance of having a good attitude, because sometimes life events don’t go our way and we must cope with those happenings like adults.”

Roscoe quoted First Corinthians 13:11-12, one of his favorite Scripture passages, to Richard. “ When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

Richard asked his dad, “So when we’re in eternity with Jesus our knowledge will be complete?”

“I think so, son. At any rate, we’ll know everything we need to know. The most important thing to remember is when we’re with Jesus, we’ll be in very happy surroundings forever.”

“We’ll be praising the Lord Jesus all the time, right, dad?”

“That’s right, Richard. And right now, Jesus is constructing new mansions for us.”

“We’re told in John chapter 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

“So, I’ll have my own mansion, dad?”

“You sure will, son.”

“Praise the Lord, dad!” Richard shouted. “Praise the Lord!”

“What are you so excited about?” asked Roscoe.

The teenager grinned from ear to ear. “In eternity, I’ll have my own mansion. It will be so much bigger and better than the room I have now! In eternity, it sounds like I’ll have my choice of rooms!”
