Are you an avid listener of talk radio? Maybe you just scan the stations. If either is true of you, the name Dave Ramsey is likely familiar. The financial advisor’s program is carried by many radio stations throughout our nation.
Callers ask Dave a standard question… “How are you?” He always gives a truthful answer. “Better than I deserve.”
That’s a truth to consider.
“He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him (Psalm 103:10-11 NKJV).”
God treats me far better than I deserve.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23 NKJV).”
His salvation is a gift. I don’t deserve His redemption; I did not earn it.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV).”
What ‘do’ we have to boast about? Apostle Paul knew…
“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world (Galatians 6:14 NKJV)."
