DOWN YONDER AT BLUE CREEK CHURCH
by Lewis E. Thomas I thought of my Grandmother a few weeks ago!
Her birthday is the day after mine you know!
She passed away in 1976 from diabetes
that blinded her near the end.
God took her home to that Land with no sin.
I had never placed flowers on "Granny's" grave that I could recall.
She "deserved better" for the love that she gave to us all!
So I purchased some beautiful artificial flowers and an antique looking vase.
And I asked my sister-in-law to arrange them and set them in place.
Then I drove over to the old Blue Creek Church Cemetary today.
And I placed the flowers on Grandma's grave where they would stay!
I thanked "Granny" via a prayer reaching up to Heaven above.
I thanked her for all her hugs and kisses and for all her love!
I looked at all the graves around "Granny" that were her and my kin.
Then I thought about "eternity" and the penalty for Sin.
I wondered about the souls of those who had passed on before!
I wondered how many had "made it" through "Heaven's Door"?
I thought about my "own life" and how I spiritually measured up?
I thanked the Lord for "saving me" from my old life that was corrupt!
We all have an appointment with "DEATH" just up the road ahead!
Will we be saved or lost when God judges the quick and the dead?
Will Jesus be our Savior or our Judge Most High?
When we bow before His Throne, in that "KINGDOM BEYOND THE SKY"?
