AS LIFE PASSES ON AGAIN
by Dwayne Collins Written by: Dwayne Collins aka Olafemi
I often times think of my MOTHER and my MOTHER-in-law and the family and friends I left behind. I think of all my living relatives and the fact that I don’t know anything about them, not even a phone number or an address. I think of how WE don’t even communicate with each other on the social media. But it has been written that as your lifestyle changes, you must rid yourself of faces, places and things. They say that the closest ones to you, will be the furthest ones from you in the end times. Father against son and MOTHER against daughter. All the ingredients to keep us apart and separated.
Every year thousands of children graduate from schools, all over the world. More thousands never make it to graduation. Even more of these thousands of children, never even make it to puberty. Tears are falling down their faces. They cry because they have a need to see their places in the world. And WE, those of us who are struggling to survive, have to compete against young minds to live out the rest of our lives. And WE still have the nerve to depend on the same systems that have failed to eliminate racism. WE continue to rely on religions that speak of LOVE but fail to make people understand about ONE, SUPREME and MIGHTY GOD, that has thousands of names and not ONE of them are powerful enough to stop crimes, poverty, hunger and the thousands of graduates from choosing the wrong lifestyles to live on.
As life passes on, it would seem that our eyes would be opened. Hard times fall on the poor and the wealthy. The good life is our ability to survive. Some homeless people are better off than others. Some illnesses are not as bad as others. And WE live off the satisfaction of knowing that it can always be worse.
The dead will never return to us. And WE allow people to face death every day. Without remorse, people are allowed to die as they live healthy lives. They are beaten and judged without justice by people who WE placed in positions to serve and protect. They are also refused to be healed because they lack enough money to pay for a caring physician.
Will WE ever find the LOVE needed to sleep with our doors open? Catching the warm summer breezes through our bar-less windows. Enjoying the comforting conversations of our neighbors and relatives of generations that grew from one man and one woman.
Again, as life passes on, with every WORD of TRUTH given to me from ALMIGHTY GOD, YAHWEH to give to you, my heart is filled with the tears of children. Children who have looked up to their elders to provide a world for them to express themselves as worthy adults. Men and WOMEN who are proud of who they have become. Men and WOMEN who can raise their children to be respected Men and WOMEN to their children. That they may live in TRUTH and LOVE for generations and generations.
As life passes on, again I stretch my hand out Praying that you will reach out and grab it and stretch your hand out so that all of mankind will UNITE and know that WE are all ONE in the same, wanting the same thing. A life of LOVE and Joy and Peace and Happiness.
