LORD, WHY DO YOU BOTHER?
by Lewis E. Thomas LORD, WHY DO YOU BOTHER? Lord, why do you waste your time on the likes of me?
Lord, why did you "come down" from Heaven to set me free?
Lord, I'm "not worth" your suffering and your loss!
I'm "not worth" the blood you shed for me on the Cross!
Lord, I'm a "lost cause" because I keep yielding to sin!
Lord, I get "close to victory" but just cant seem to win!
My flesh is like a great ball and chain attached to my soul!
It keeps me from "reaching" my spiritual goals!
So, why do you bother Lord with the likes of me?
"Lord, I'm just not worth it, can't you see?"
God: "My child I see you struggling with sin and doing your best!"
"I endured the Cross for you so that your life would be "blessed"!
"My child, I see a time ahead that "you" cannot see!"
"A day when you "will" walk in "great" victory!"
"A time when my Grace will sever that great ball and chain!"
"A time when you will do great exploits in "my name"!"
"My child, I went to the Cross to bear your sins heavy blow!"
"Because I love you more than you could ever know!"
"So, until that time comes hold your head up high!"
"My grace is sufficient and now you know why"!
