NO HUNGER FOR GOD
by Lewis E. Thomas The modern Church at large today has lost it hunger and appetite for God!
Few have a "hungry heart" like David had on that path they trod!
Many of us attend Church three times a week!
Yet spiritually "our ribs are showing" and we are very weak!
We come to Church with "no hunger" for God because, we come "filled" with the world!
Spiritual malnutrition is found in just about every man, woman, boy and girl!
If there was a "real hunger for God", we would get on our knees when we walked in!
But, our "first priority" is to chat and catch up with our friends!
I often see "one saint" who gets on her knees the moment she walks inside!
She prays "before the service" and casts aside any foolish pride!
"What a difference it would make if we all followed her lead!"
What if we all prayed for hours for the lost and those in need?
"If we had a true "hunger for God" we would take the clock off the wall!"
We would "stay" on our knees "until" the Holy Spirit power came down on us all!
"If we hungered for God the way we do for the buffet line!"
Our Church would be ripping Satan's Kingdom apart, like a Mighty Lion!
"We go through the motions and we put on a good show!"
But God has become a stranger, someone we do not know!
The modern Church at large has little to no Spiritual Power!
Because Her services "limit" the Holy Spirit to a window of little more than an hour!
We devote "far more time" to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Than we do to prayer and seeking Jesus and The Great I AM!
Woe is me as I close this little rhyme!
"Lord, make me to hunger after you like a starving Lion!"
