BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM
by Lewis E. Thomas "BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM"
In Matthew 7:16 Jesus spoke the title of this rhyme!
Let us focus on that title and invest a little time!
There are many running around today claiming to be saints, claiming to be born again!
While their spiritual tree is loaded down with nothing but sin!
If a lost soul cried out for help and fell at their feet!
There would be nothing good/holy found on their tree for that soul to eat!
A corrupt tree has nothing to offer but the fruit of death!
But a Good Tree is a place where all can eat and be spiritually blessed!
A Tree of God will not produce fruit both good and bad!
When God sees our tree bearing corrupt fruit it makes Him sad!
You may think, "My tree is not corrupt because it has no fruit at all!"
You stick your chest out proudly standing tall.
A barren tree is no different than the tree bearing fruit, rotten within!
Both are trees ruined by corrupted roots that are tangled up in sin!
Only "holy living" can produce "strong roots" that reach deep into Christ!
Only holy living can produce fruit that will suffice!
If God looked down on your tree today what would God see?
"Woe unto our souls if He sees corrupt fruit on you or me!"

Matthew 7: 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. ...
