True Beauty
by PamFord Davis

Makeup or no makeup? That is the question…

Okay, so what is the answer?

As far as I’m concerned, it’s a personal issue. I wear makeup but I don’t put it on every day. To be honest, I feel much better about myself when I take the time to apply it. It’s a quick fix. Using moderation in makeup makes sense to me. It looks more natural and is economical. I realize that many women invest a lot of money in cosmetics.

I can assure you I’m not in that category. I have very little money invested. As in all my shopping, I’m a bargain hunter.

Speaking of hunting, I use under eye makeup as camouflage; it conceals my dark circles. It’s been said …. ‘Beauty is skin deep.’ Does beauty go deep down into the soul?

I long for the lasting beauty of holiness.

“Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones,
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 29:1-2 NKJV).”

I am blessed to have godly women in my circle of friends. They worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!

“… but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy (1 Peter 1:15-16 NKJV).”
