Without your love
by Harriett Ford

Without Your Love

Outside, the wind claws at the door

And taps the window pane.

A cold moon beds in quilts of clouds

Which pelt the ground with rain.

The blackest black—a midnight hue

Leaves little to be seen,

Except for nightmare fantasies

And creatures from a dream.

Inside a Light burns cozily

And sheds a cheery glow.

It holds at bay the midnight black

And turns to warmth the cold.

The Light is You inside my heart

Like fingers in a glove.

The tapping wind and dark rain are

The world without Your love.
