GOD-TRACKING IS TRUSTING GOD’S TIMING

 Proverbs 16:1
The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

I remember when my wife was pregnant with our children. Those were exciting days. I remember the great anticipation of that big day when Karen would say, “I think it’s time,” and we’d need to grab the pre-packed carryall and rush off to the hospital. I remember too, how long those 9 months seemed to take. I think they were the longest months of my life! That great wait through the months of watching my wife swell with delight, till the moment when I heard my daughter’s first cry. I remember the moment I first felt that little kick from inside her womb. The joy! There’s life in that lump, after all! Day by day and week by week I watched as my little one moved and progressed in her development.

Then it happened. We were just about to get into bed one evening when Karen stopped dead on her side of the bed. “I think my waters just broke!” she gasped. It was around 11pm. I looked at my watch then back into Karen’s eyes. “What! Now?!” I gasped in return. Frantically and with great trepidation I changed out of my pyjamas, grabbed that formidable holdall and tooth brush and headed for the car. My wife’s time had come. My baby’s arrival was imminent.

No one knows the exact moment of that first breath, and no one knows the exact moment of the last. No one knows exactly when he will meet his life’s partner or when he will be joined by new friends in the race of life. No one knows the exact instant of his next adventure or disappointment or opportunity or loss. Sometimes we try very hard to plan our moments, but the scriptures remind us that, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” So, acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and trust him to direct your times.

God-tracking is trusting God’s timing.

DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY

Help me to track your will every second, every day and every year

“Dear God, I realise now that all of my life is wrapped up in your purposes for me. As I acknowledge you in all I do, I know that you will direct my paths. So, Lord, I give my plans to you and confess that my times are in your hands. Lead me by your word and your Spirit every moment of my life. I give you the timing of my life: my work, my calling, my relationships, my coming & going, my recreation and in every aspect of my walk, from beginning to end. Open and close doors according to your strategy for me and help me to track your will every second, every day and every year. I commit my all to you, o Lord. Amen.”
