THE OPTIONS ARE BEFORE YOU
by Olawale Ogunsola “Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4:26(d). The birth of Enos, the son of Seth, heralded a new lease of life in the affairs of men. Let me remind or inform you that Seth was another son born into the family of Adam and Eve. He was born after death of Abel who was slain by Cain, his older brother. The expectation of the Lord God of creation is for man to call on Him. Jeremiah 33:3 states, “Call to me, and I will answer you, and show You great and mighty things, which you do not know.” To call to the Lord has tremendous value, witnessing great and mighty things. Before the birth of Enos which marked the start of calling on the name of the Lord, it is possible that men called on other names that were of little or no value to them. As it was, so it is! During the reign of Judges in Israel, the Holy Scriptures discloses, “In those days there was no King in Israel; Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” Judges 17:6. Do you know that people still do what is right in their eyes? This has given rise to two things:
This is wrong! As an instance from the Holy Scriptures, Apostle John in a revelation saw an Angel of God and tried to worship him. The Angel told him, “See that you do not do that I am your fellow servant, and Of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!” Rev 19:10.
“Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands, They have, but they do not speak, Eyes they have, but they not see, They have ears, but they do not hear, Noses they have, but they do not smell; They have hands, but they do not handle, Feet they have, but they do not walk, Nor do they mutter through their throat, Those who make them are like them, So is everyone who trust in them.” Psalm 115:4-8. By interpretation, if you trust in the works of men, you are a victim of a serious body paralysis. What is the experience of anyone who suffers such paralysis? Bitterness! “Their sorrows shall be multiplied who Hasten after another god.” Psalm 16:4. Now the options are before you. Choose one choose right. Meaning that it will be of immense value if you can join those who say, “But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. Psalm 115:3(a-b). Worship and call on the Lord your God that you may experience wonderful works of your creator. Then will you be able to sing this joyful song. “I will call upon the Lord, who is Worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my Enemies.” I Samuel 22:4. Do not chase sorrow. Worship the Lord and call upon His Holy name. Stay blessed and prepared for the coming of the Lord.
