Postman
by Richard L. Provencher His jaw quivered as I strode forth-- boldness my command.
Tracing footprints across the grass he scampered quickly as I dared reach for the gate’s lock.
We joined in impatient stares-- bared teeth vs nerves no longer made of steel. A pert schnauzer and a large one at that
each of us willing to hold our position until the moment his rush began. Then I slam the gate and hurry to anywhere I can.
