LORD, DO YOU HEAR MY PRAYERS?
by Lewis E. Thomas LORD, DO YOU HEAR MY PRAYERS? Lord, do my prayers "make it" to Heaven up above?
Do you "hear" my prayers that I pray for those I love?
I pray, I pray, and I pray for souls to be saved and for them to receive healing.
But, Lord it seems as if my prayers don't get past the ceiling.
It seems as though there is an evil Angel standing between you and me!
Intercepting all the prayers, that I send up to thee!
It feels as if the heavens are made of solid brass at times!
And "that" feeling of frustration is what inspired me to write this rhyme!
I pray over and over again lifting this one and that one up to you in prayer.
And old Satan whispers in my ear, "God doesn't even care!"
Lord, I know that is a lie from the enemy of my soul!
I know you value me and others more than silver and gold!
Lord, I know you love me because of what you did for me on The Cross!
You gave your life for me so that my soul would not be lost!
Give me a little sign like you gave to Elijah about the size of a man's hand!
So that I can know that "all my prayers" are securely in your hand!
Lord, let me see just one miracle of salvation or healing come to pass from time to time.
Then I won't be writing this kind of rhyme!
When my heart is gripped with doubt and fear!
Give me the grace to know that "every" time I pray you "always" hear!
