"Sit still; stop that squirming!"
Parents, grandparents and guardians reprimand young children.
It isn't cruel; they want the children to behave during worship services.
"Don't you move!"
Overactive children find the instructions distasteful.
My heavenly Father speaks…
"Be still!"
Am I listening?
I sometimes squirm and avoid heart contact. I have things to do.
Moving about, I continue to go from task-to-task.
The LORD's command seems illogical and unattainable.
Yet; I know He has my best interests in mind.
When I’m still, I sense His presence. I experience His peace, purpose and power.
An attentive parent protects their child; there are predators. When outside the Father's perfect will, I’m vulnerable to the devil's tactics. As deceiver and accuser, he traps the unsuspecting.
I’m mindful of Satan’s traps and take God’s word to heart.
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth (Psalms 46:10 NKJV).”
