THE SAMSON EFFECT
by Lewis E. Thomas

THE SAMSON EFFECT

In Judges 16:20 we have the Samson Effect clearly seen!
The Lord had departed from Samson and the departure was unseen!

Samson shook himself as at other times expecting God's power to manifest!
But God had abandoned Samson because he repeatedly failed God's test!

Samson had broken his Nazirite vows over and over again!
Disobeying God and indulging in sin!

Samson toyed with sin until it took his eyes and his life!
Samson chose a forbidden philistine woman to become his wife!

Samson could never get his flesh under control!
Sin and disobedience caused Samson to die young and to never grow old!

Samson could have been a great Leader over the Jews for many many years!
But his life was "cut short" by his sins and Samson cried many tears!

Are you playing with sin and things forbidden by God's holy word!
Do you think this question is strange and absurd?

"Has the Spirit of God departed from you without you even knowing?"
Has the Holy Spirit abandoned you because of the sin you have been sowing!

When you face old Satan again as a Roaring Lion looking to devour!
Will God still be "with you" in your darkest hour?

When you "shake yourself" will God still be with you as before?
Have you grieved the Holy Spirit by doing things that God deplores?

How long has it been since you felt the devine presence of God within?
Has the Holy Spirit "abandoned you" because of your disobedience and willful sin?

Many disobedient and lukewarm Christians sit in Church and put on a good show!
Not realizing that the Holy Spirit walked away from them long ago!
