UNSEEN GIFTS
by Lewis E. Thomas UNSEEN GIFTS
Our hearts beat an average of 80 beats per minute or 4,800 beats per hour!
That's 115,200 beats per day with tireless dynamo like power!
Lay your hand over your heart and feel the rhythm of each beat!
Every single heart beat is a gift from God, precious and sweet!
With that in mind, how should we respond to God for giving us all those precious unseen beats of love?
Shouldn't we order and discipline our lives to "please" our Great Creator above?
Don't you think we should look for ways each day to glorify God's holy name?
Rather than always seeking to glorify "ourselves" chasing fortune and fame!
We take our heartbeats for granted and deem they will always be fine!
But, God can quickly snatch them away in a moment of time!
They are precious unseen gifts that God sends down to you and I every day!
Shouldn't this truth make us want to repent and get on that Straight and Narrow Way?
You and I owe God "every" 24 hours of every day that He allows us to live!
He expects us to "walk in His service" every day, ready to reach out to others and give!
Jesus Christ used "every" beat of His heart for you and I.
His great love for us is the reason why!
The heart beat of Jesus stopped as he died on that Old Rugged Cross!
Paying for "our sins" so that our souls should not be lost!
How will you use your heartbeats today and tomorrow?
Will you use them to bring God great joy or great sorrow?
Will you use them up on things immoral and obscene?
Or will you use them to honor and glorify Jesus, the mighty King of kings?
"Every breath" we take is another "unseen gift" given by God up above!
Shouldn't we "thank" Him by putting Him into 1st place with our devotions and our love?

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
