I don’t have the need or opportunity to go to many children’s playgrounds.
Growing up in the country, the entire Mycenae neighborhood was my playground. I did enjoy recess on the playground of Fayetteville elementary school. The swings were my favorite but I also spent time on tall and short slides, sets of monkey bars, merry-go-round, using a tetherball and on the teeter-totter. There were far fewer safety regulations in my childhood days.
I remember the fun of sitting on the high end of the wooden teeter-totter board. I got quite a jolt after descending quickly to the ground!
“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty, Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.
He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind; He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers.
He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not ‘totter’ [emphasis mine] forever and ever (Psalm 104:1-6 NASB).”
I’m an earth dweller; providentially, God is keeping me from the dangerous highs and lows of a teeter-totter ride.
