Wash Away
by Linda Jackson I was born into it! Not knowing what "it" was But reeking like everyone around me The stench, welcome to the family Then I learned "its" name.....sin Many have darkened my heart I heard about You, Lord, how You came to do Your part You came to wash me But what can Disintegrate Consume Scrub Away what is deeply stained? Strong enough to clean my blood of disease ingrained Hate, lies, immoral thoughts At such a young age, I tried to hide What can restore Eve's purity lost? Nothing the world is able to provide Not Mysticism or burning charms of men Not Mary, though blessed she is Not A cross of wood or gold Not Men who walked with You so bold Not Sun, moon or stars of showering rays Not Angels who bow and give You praise Not Inked skin or knife scared flesh Not Sweet aromas or a crystals gleam Not The whisper of cards or the lure of a comets trailing stream What has the power to wash away my sinful lusts Nothing, Nothing but the Blood of Jesus LJ/18 1 Jn 1:7;Rev 1:5,7:14;Jer 4:14 My name is Linda Jackson. I am a blessed wife, mother and grandmother. I am a Biblical counselor and teacher to women in jail. I also teach kindergarten Sunday school.
