PURITY FOR DIVINE LIVING
by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE

Scriptural Reading: II Corinthians 6:1-7

‘ ‘Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.’’ Psalms 24:3-4 (KJV)

I remember my friend told me of how he prayed for a dead child and the child came back to life. He could see into the spirit realm as a result of purity, but when he fell into the sin of immorality, this gift left him. Purity gives brighter vision and commands answer to prayers, and it is a precondition for power. This is well pleasing to God and it paves the way to accessing the throne room of God. Each time I purified myself and whenever I am praying, I pray with confidence.

Our scripture we read from records purity working alongside other virtues and that believers have a role to play by being blameless in the ministry God has committed to our charge and we would have to endure many things in order to stay pure before God. A life of purity is a life that is devoid of iniquity and it is a conducive platform to ascending into God’s holy hills.

God is the Shepherd and the Bishop of our souls and He wants us to live our lives free from any form of satanic entanglement. Through constant meditation on the word of God and washing of ourselves in the precious blood of Christ, and praying in the Holy Ghost we will be established in purity. Purity helps believers to attain higher heights in the Christendom.

Do we want to become spiritual giants and be great in life as a result of purity? Then we have to abstain from fleshly lust that war against the soul and to live a life of consecration to God on a daily basis. This is also an ultimate scriptural guide we can hold on to and apply to our lives so that we can do well in life. Acts 15:29 (KJV) ‘That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.’ God is pure in all things

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, purify my spirit, soul, and body with your precious blood and make me pure before you and create in me your right spirit always. Amen.

Purity projects a fellow for a godly relationship in becoming an overcomer.
