SUDDEN DIVINE HARVEST OF THE WICKED
by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE

Scriptural Reading: Acts 12:21-23

‘‘The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.’’  Proverbs 10:29 (KJV)

My friend’s late uncle dealt with them by transferring their destinies to his own children. He was using the stars of my friend and his siblings to better the lives of his children. My friend had to take up the matter to God by telling it to one of Nigerian’s famous pastors and he prayed concerning this matter, and the uncle was harvested by death. The psalmist must have witnessed the ill-treatment of the wicked and this was what he said in the book of Psalms 7:9 (KJV) Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

Herod was a wicked king that was dreaded and he could kill at any time without any apology to anybody. He spoke in an oratory manner and the people saw it as the voice of a god and not a man, but God destroyed him when he did not give God the glory due to Him. He was the one that killed James the brother of John with the sword in Acts 12:2, King Herod was also the one that beheaded John the Baptist in Mark 6:14-29. King Pharaoh was a wicked personality as well, alongside other workers of iniquity.

God is a mighty God that can kill and make alive. He wants us to stay away from any form of wickedness so that our lives can be long here on earth. The wicked can die from any form of satanic stray bullet suddenly because God is far from them and they have no divine covering upon them. But for us who believe and walk in the divine pathway, our defence is sure.

Do we want to be protected from sudden death by God? We have to belong to the camp of God where we can be numbered as members of His divine kingdom. Here is also an anchor scripture we can hold on to and apply on a daily basis.  Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.’  III John 1:11 (KJV)

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me for every form of wickedness, I have involved myself in and help me to cross over to your camp so that my life can be spared. Amen

Wickedness is like a rope that ties an evildoer to the tree of a short life.
