DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE

One day I lay on a grassy knoll by the riverside.
My thoughts went back to that day when the Son of God died!
As I lay there listening to the sparrows and the mockingbirds sing!
I thought about the Great Creator, Jesus, the MIGHTY KING of kings!
I saw an Eagle fly over, soaring way up High!
And I thought about that "Old Rugged Cross" where my Savior died!
I thought about that precious blood that ran down from His innocent hands and feet!
I thought about the mercy Jesus "showed" that day to a repenting thief!
The thief cried out, "LORD REMEMBER ME"!
And Jesus replied, Today, thou shalt be in "PARADISE" with me!
As I lay on that beautiful grassy knoll.
I thanked Jesus Christ for saving my soul!
I thanked Him for dying on The Cross to save a wretch like me from Sin!
I thanked Him that I am now, "BORN AGAIN"!
I love to take those journeys within my mind...
I love to let my thoughts take me back yonder in "TIME"!
Back to those days when my precious Lord and Savior died!
Back to those days of "THE CRUCIFIED"!
I love to think about the Mighty Great I Am!
And how I have been cleansed of all my sins by the precious blood of "THE LAMB"!
Down by the riverside...
