A STORM A COMING!
by Lewis E. Thomas A STORM A COMING!
I wait like many other Floridians tonight on "HURRICANE DORIAN" "CAT 5" coming towards our costal State!
Wondering how bad "this one" will be and what will be our fate!
Seems like every time we turn around their is another STORM out there headed our way!
And all we can do about it is to prepare, buckle down, and PRAY!
Have you noticed "not one" of our "NATION'S" elected leaders ever speak out publicly to say:
"FOLKS, THERE IS A DEADLY STORM COMING OUR WAY AND IM ASKING YOU ALL TO GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES AND PRAY!
Seems like rather than addressing our whole NATION or State and asking everyone to pray!
They would rather "pass" on the prayers and just embrace whatever destruction the "STORM" brings our way!
Shouldn't we all cry out to God as a State/NATION to seek His favor and His good will?
And ask God to speak to that "GREAT STORM" and say: "PEACE! BE STILL!"
I thought about this and pondered it in my heart for a while, though some might "think" that odd!
I wondered how many STORMS could have been "STILLED or CALMED" had we all fasted and prayed and cried out "really" hard to GOD?
We face all kinds of Storms in life be they physical, financial, emotional, etc, the list goes on!
Yet, if we have JESUS in our heart we can "weather" those STORMS and let them make us STRONG!
CALM TIMES are great, but with few lessons learned unique!
If we faced no STORMS in life we would soon grow spiritually frail and weak!
An old "seasoned sailor" is not gripped with fear when he sees Dark Storm Clouds beginning to block out the sun!
Because he has "been through it many times before" and to him, "ITS JUST ANOTHER HARD RUN"!
So, pray "long and hard" as we prepare and wait for this new STORM to arrive!
Let us ask the LORD above to hide us in the "hollow of His hand" and to "KEEP US ALL ALIVE"!
