WALKING ON THE EDGE!
by Lewis E. Thomas WALKING ON THE EDGE! There are safety barriers around deep ravines, high mountain trails, canyons, and like such!
They exist to keep us from falling and winding up dead and in the "GRIM REAPER'S" cold deadly clutch!
But there are those who "love the thrill" of walking dangerously close to the "EDGE"!
Like on a dangerous Sky Scraper's roof top "perimeter" or on a lofty Niagara Fall's ledge!
Today's churches have many Christians who daily practice this "dangerous" walking on the "EDGE" game!
"And if you are that kind of Christian, you bring upon God and His Church much disgrace and shame!"
WHY DO SOME CHRISTIANS WALK JUST AS FAR AWAY FROM GOD AS THEY CAN...
Hoping to remain "close enough" to still make it into that HEAVENLY PROMISED LAND?
This behavior is a clear sign that their love for God falls far below their love for other things!
Their love for this world is much greater than their love for Jesus, the KING of kings!
There is an old saying that describes the condition of these Christians really well!
They are often referred to be: "STRADDLING THE FENCE" between Heaven and Hell!
Imagine a "TIGHT ROPE WALKER" walking a thin rope over the very flames of Hell down below!
That would be the current condition of many Church folks today that you know!
If you are "quick" to say "YES, I CAN CERTAINLY POINT OUT ONE OR TWO!"
Take a long look into the mirror first because "YOU" just might be "GUILTY" too!
If that's you, or me we had better get our heart right with God "quickly" my friend!
Because if we are straddling the fence we are "ONE MISSTEP" away from "falling" and being dragged down into Hell by the heavy weight of our own willful sins!
