WHEN MAMA PRAYED!
by Lewis E. Thomas WHEN MAMA PRAYED! As I grew up I often got unruly and out of line!
And over the years I learned a truth that is truly devine!
When I was out somewhere erring from that Straight and Narrow path!
I would "quickly" encounter God's holy wrath!
I couldn't get "too far" away when I strayed!
Because the hand of God would come down on me "when Mama prayed"!
When Mama prayed: "Angels in Heaven were dispatched to come down at God's command!
When Mama prayed, "LORD, PLEASE KEEP MY SON IN THE HOLLOW OF YOUR HAND!"
When Mama prayed, " DEMONS AND DEVILS" began to tremble and shake!
They often cried, "HOW MUCH MORE OF THIS SAINTLY MOTHER CAN WE TAKE?"
Old Satan did his "BEST" to sift me like wheat!
But, when Mama prayed he always met defeat!
Today I am born again, washed in the blood of Jesus, and saved!
Where would I be today if not for all those countless times, "WHEN MAMA PRAYED"!
