Scriptural Reading: John 4:35-37

‘‘And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.’’  Revelation 14:15 (KJV)

Nigeria is one country on the surface of the earth that has been naturally endowed with plenty of minerals and natural resources. The soil is fertile and there is a guarantee for food sufficiency. The two seasons are usually the rainy season and the dry season, and the dry season is being characterized by the harmattan. The rainy season is for a period of seven months (April- October) with adequate rainfall that helps farmers’ to cultivate their crops. This is the planting period or sowing season. When crops are fully matured, the harvest (or reaping) period comes on board during the dry season and it is a period to look forward to when there is usually plenty of food for everyone to eat and plenty of seeds for farmers to sow for the next planting season. Farmers are usually grateful to God Almighty in times of reaping.

Jesus is admonishing us that the harvest is ripe already, the reaper and the one that sows will have a reward. Jesus is coming again for the harvest of all humankind and this will happen at the event of the rapture. For believers who have been divinely harvested will have access to life-eternal, while the evildoers will suffer shame and reproach which will be a case of a world without end ( endless years of bitterness in Hell ). Jesus is our divine reaper whom God has appointed for this purpose.

God Almighty who is our Spiritual Surveillance has kept in place spiritual cameras that monitor all activities of humankind, and our works will be tested on the day of the great harvest which is the judgment day. It will be a time of pains and gains. In this wise, God is calling on us today to come to Him in sincerity and He will pardon all our shortcomings so that it shall be well with our souls on the day of His visitation. All mortals are on the field of life and the Holy Spirit Divine is at work already, preparing the saints for the great harvest. Heaven is real and Hell is real. On that great day of harvest, are we sure to make it to Heaven or Hell? I pray for divine grace to escape Hell and to embrace Heaven in Jesus name, for everyone who is a reader of this DEVOTIONAL.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, you are the Greatest Reaper, help me and my family to be harvested in your holiness and righteousness and grant unto us the grace to make Heaven when life on earth is over. Amen

When there is a bumper harvest, the reapers celebrate and the consumers eat with reckless abandon
