I CLING TO THAT OLD RUGGED CROSS!
I cling to that old rugged Cross with all my heart and my soul!
It's more valuable than all the world's silver, diamonds, and gold!
I cling to it because it's the only thing that can save me from the curse of Sin!
Its the only way that a lost soul can be BORN AGAIN!
I know I don't have it "in me" to make it up to Heaven on my own!
I know I will always be "struggling" not to do something that's sinful and wrong!
I cling to that old rugged Cross because that's the only place where I can find grace!
I'm prone to commit sin just like the rest of the fallen human race!
At the Cross I can access the awesome "MERCY and FORGIVENESS OF GOD"...
every time I "mess up and fail Him" on this path I trod!
I "cling" to that old rugged Cross where my precious "LORD and SAVIOR" died!
At the Cross I can be cleansed with the precious blood of "THE CRUCIFIED"!
I shall cling to that old rugged Cross because it is the "ANCHOR OF MY SOUL!"
And "One Day" it will take me up to that "Heavenly City" where the streets are paved with gold!
I cling to that old rugged Cross...
