Ephesians 1:11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will
My mind was numb, as I walked home from the business meeting. For the past one and a half hours, I’d sat around a table with three colleagues discussing the future of our work. Through the haze of pressing issues, I vaguely remember us reviewing our vision and projects. However, somehow, it was as if I wasn’t there. I heard a voice discussing our plans. It sounded like my voice, but it seemed I was listening in from the other room. When I opened the front door and entered my home Karen knew instantly that there was something wrong. I was on the verge of burnout.
I always teach that God has a plan for our lives. The scripture makes that plain. In Jeremiah, we read, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.” And in Ephesians, we read that God’s purpose was for us to know the mystery of his grace, through Christ that we might fulfil our destinies. And in Romans: “All things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose.” I likewise teach that if we acknowledge God in all our ways, he will direct our paths in life. All this amounts to the main concept of what I call, God-tracking.
Yet, God never promised that tracking his plans would always be easy. For as much as God has a plan for your life so does the enemy of God’s plans, Satan. Satan’s plan is always to derail you from the track of God’s plans for your life. Thankfully, Jesus said, “In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Stress, criticism, loss, illness, anxiety and more are sure to rise up in your life, as you seek to stay on track with the plans and purposes of God.
This is where trust comes in. Despite the stress, despite the burnouts, we can be sure that if we continue to acknowledge God in all – yes, all – our ways, then wherever we find ourselves in life will be precisely where God wants us to be. So, be strong and courageous, he will never leave your side. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, who endured great stress, looking through the cross to see himself victorious on the other side. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding.
Safe to say, though my circumstances have changed since that formidable business meeting a year ago, God’s plans have prevailed in my life. His plans are for our welfare and not evil, to give us a future and a hope. God-tracking is trusting God’s plan

SO, DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY
You are the uplifter of my soul! Today I place my trust squarely in the plans you know you have for me
“Dear Lord, I don’t know if I can face another day. I feel so empty – so burned out. Loss has overcome me; stress is overwhelming me, and the criticisms are overbearing. Forgive me for taking my eyes off Jesus during this trial. Dear Lord, I consciously acknowledge you again in prayer and commit every part of my life to you. I trust you emphatically and believe you are with me in this thicket. Help me through this, O Lord. Be my strength, my hope and my peace. You are the uplifter of my soul! Today I place my trust squarely in the plans you know you have for me. Amen.”
