Why Fear the LORD - 51 Reasons - Part 2
by Tonja Taylor

We fear (revere, respect, honor, and worship) the LORD for many reasons. He is worthy more than any other to receive our reverence, respect, honor, devotion, praise and worship and thanksgiving!

Instead of going in numerical order to expound upon these 51 points, I believe the LORD is leading me to start with #16: The LORD our Defender.

Jesus Christ is the LORD Our Defender--from coronavirus, and every harmful thing. Hallelujah!

7 "The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers. --Psalm 34:7, AMPC

18 Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe], who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness, 19 To deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.--Psalm 33:18,19, AMPC

The LORD is our Deliverer from every harmful thing. He is the One Who keeps us safe--in many more ways than we will know until Heaven, at least! He is faithful. He loves all people.

He is so good that He "rains on the just and the unjust." That means His goodness and mercy shower every person on earth--no matter how wicked!--with good things, starting with breath; life!

Our God is holy. He does not have to be good to those who hate Him and mock and scorn Him and even curse His most blessed Name!

He is so good, that He even gives every human a guardian angel when they are born (Matthew 18:10), because the enemy (satan, the devil) would love to kill every human before they are born (that's what abortion is, by the way: murder in the womb!).

But God has a wonderful plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 2:10 and 3:20, Psalm 91, and Revelation 22:12, to name a few)! He loves us and only wants good for us. That was His Plan all along, from the Garden of Eden and beyond!

He has already decided to forgive the whole human race, for all time. That is what He did by sending Jesus, His unique, spotless, and only Son, to die on the cross to pay for the sins of all mankind (John 3:15-17)!

Our Father God is Yahweh, the Covenant God. He keeps Covenant with those that love Him: Deuteronomy 7:9: Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His covenant with loving devotion for a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.

He defends the fatherless and poor and weak (Isaiah 1:17, more). But He is only obligated to defend those who are in Covenant with Him by faith in the blood of His Son, Jesus: "Though the mountains may be removed and the hills may be shaken, My loving devotion will not depart from you, and My covenant of peace will not be broken,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you." -- Isaiah 54:10, AMPC

When we are in Covenant with God, that means we have agree with Him that we need what was accomplished by Jesus Christ when He spilled all His holy blood for us on the cross: Complete, eternal forgiveness of our sins--forgiveness of missing the perfection God originally intended for us in the Garden of Eden, as Adam and Eve had before they sinned. It means we have received Christ Jesus as our Savior and LORD, so that He then lives in us as the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us in every area of life for victory and peace. It means we have become right with God, Yahweh, Who is holy and cannot abide sin (Leviticus 20:7 and I Peter I:15-16).

Truly, the only safety and defense are with the LORD Jesus Christ. When you receive Christ, you also receive special protection that is not available to people who do not have a blood Covenant with God.

The Covenant of Blood that we agree to when we receive the LORD Jesus Christ includes that the LORD, Jehovah Nissi (one of His many names; many names, but only one God!), becomes the LORD our Defender; the LORD our Victorious Miracle Banner! Hallelujah!

If you have not been born again and want to receive Christ Jesus as your Savior, LORD, and Best Friend forever (He will never leave you nor forsake you! Hebrews 13:5), please say this prayer out loud:

Dear Jesus, I acknowledge and say that You alone are LORD and God. I thank You for dying for me on the cross by shedding all of Your blood to pay the terrible debt of all my sins. I ask You to please forgive me and come into my heart and be my Savior and LORD and Best Friend Forever.

I renounce satan and all of his works in my life, forever.

I receive You and ask You to help me know You and walk in Your ways. I thank You that in this new life in which I follow You, I will go to be with You in Heaven when this body dies. Thank You so much! In Your Name, amen!

Now, if you just said that prayer and meant it, you are truly born again! God is now your loving Father (I John 3:1), Jesus is your Brother Who and Good Shepherd who will always be with you and will lead you in right paths, and the angels are having a party to celebrate your most excellent decision (Luke 15:7)!

Your spirit has been translated from the temporary kingdom of darkness into the eternal Kingdom of Light of God's dear Son, King Jesus (Colossians 1;13,14)!

It is a rebirthing of your spirit!

Ask the LORD to show you the right church body for you to become part of, and for the right Bible to study. Remember there are multiple versions and languages online to use! He will help you.

He will help you--for His Spirit is the Helper Who is with you now, forever (Matthew 28:20)!

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. -- Matthew 28:20, KJV
