I've always liked to write so last Christmas my husband surprised me with an elegant golden pen inscribed with my name. From time to time I'd open the handsome hinged case that held my pen and admire the contents inside. What will I write with it? I'd ask myself. A story, a poem, a romance novel? Then I'd close the case and wait for inspiration. That is, until one day recently when Coronavirus struck and every day on the news I'd hear the stories of people falling ill, losing their jobs, standing in line at food banks and mourning the deaths of their loved ones. I knew then that I had to use my golden pen to write these words about the comfort God offers to His people.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (KJV)

The world offers us tribulations but God is there to comfort us in our time of need. He cares deeply about what we're going through and wants us to turn to Him in our times of need.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, please comfort us in times of sickness and disease and make us strong so that we may help others.
