To Step Inside the Gate
by Linda Jackson I have conquered, I have mastered I overcame death by Your death Lord I have overcome this world I received more than life by Yours For the One I invited in Is greater than all my sin How have I overcome the darkest night? By believing Jesus is the Son of God The One who strengthens me for the fight He overcame the world and offered the same to me By faith, born of God, establishing my victory My journey here is to overcome evil with good Only with a heart of God's love Am I able to do what I should To touch the unlovely, those in a dark place The Lord in His love offers this grace
He has promised to me Awesome wonders for the future I can't see Oh how I need reminding that I have overcome the world For the world continues to strike back So I tighten my armor Angels ready for any attack Clashes I can't see as evil takes a stand I am but a small child of God's Learning to recognize the enemy of this land
There are rewards to be given to those who overcome I try to think how it will be To eat of the tree of Life, In God's Paradise A pure sweet taste, flowing through my soul Fruit that is perfect, not infested or bruised Eating with others as we laugh and sing Experiencing the fulness only Christ can bring Hidden manna, bread of heaven The Lord will also share So many wonderful surprises, I long to be there
My desire to hear the Spirit's voice So low and clear, through written words it does appear As an overcomer I will be given a pure white stone Will it feel smooth in my hand? As I turn it over what new name will I have? One known only by me One Jesus will choose How exciting that moment will be Robed in white, I'll stand, knowing my name was in His Book of Life The moment I was conceived Because of my love for You Lord my name still remains I wonder which one was used Which one will my Father speak in my heart As I confess He is my God, as He pronounces my name His angels always alert, recognize the same Names by which a person is known Ones that describe reputation, authority Or a character shown All humanity are defined by so many verbal pictures Yet there will be a time when the portraits change For I as an overcomer will be granted more than one name How will I be able to endure the touch of Your voice Lord? As I receive the name of my God Added to that the jeweled name of Jerusalem Name above all new names I also will have A name not previously used, or spoken ill of by fallen man The new name of my Christ I will aslo wear What scene my mind can't comprehend As millions and my self are called Ready to hear each heavenly pronunciation echoing through the land Mingled with the markings on the white stone in my hand
Jesus You said I will be one with You and Your Father Setting on a throne My mind so overwhelmed, trusting my heart to You alone Yes I'm excited by this glance into my future By faith I look to the glories only my new body will know
As a child all I ever wanted was to be allowed To step inside the gate, stand against the wall of heaven Now I know there is so much more That the blood of Christ has given LJ/20 1Jn 5:4-5; Rom 12:21; Jn 6:31-33 Rev 2:7,17, 3:5,12,21 My name is Linda Jackson.
