‘This is the city (Los Angeles).’
Sergeant Joe Friday simultaneously informed and entertained television viewers.
Audiences vicariously walked crowded streets and down dark alleys of the highly populated city.
I can almost hear Gospel writer Matthew…
‘This is the town (Bethlehem).’
“But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel (Matthew 2:6 NKJV).’ ”
Matthew knew the Old Testament Scriptures and prophecy.
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting (Micah 5:2 NKJV).”
This is the town; Bethlehem (interpreted as house of bread).
Did Mary know? She knew Jesus was the long awaited Messiah.
Her son, God’s Son was the bread of life!
“And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst (John 6:35 NKJV).”
