HOLY JOE, MAD MAX, AND GOD
by Lewis E. Thomas HOLY JOE, MAD MAX, AND GOD Little Joe and Max grew up in states very far apart!
But God had a plan for the two to meet from the very start!
Joe grew up in a Christian home surrounded by much love!
Max grew up in a violent "UNHOLY" home filled with "PUSH and SHOVE"!
God arranged for the two to meet at PARRIS ISLAND after they both joined the "MARINES"!
They were soon together on the Battlefield amidst the explosions and the screams!
Joe was nicknamed "Little Holy Joe" by all the men in his platoon!
Max was a giant of a man and the men called him MAD MAX because he danced to a violent tune!
Mad Max hated little holy Joe and made fun of him, as Joe was often found reading his Bible!
When it came to being cruel and mean MAD MAX had no rival!
MAD MAX would often curse little holy Joe and slap him around!
But the Love of God in holy Joe was "STRONG" and "SOUND"!
One day when the "BATTLE" got intense and the bullets and explosions got very close!
An enemy grenade landed at the feet of MAD MAX and little holy Joe responded "FOREMOST"!
Little Joe jumped onto that grenade and gave his life to save "MAD MAX"!
And "MAD MAX" wept over little Joe for many, many, days and that is a fact!
God had a "DEVINE PLAN" to save a lost soul when He brought the two men together!
Today MAD MAX is preaching the Gospel and looking forward to that day when he and little Joe will be reunited in Heaven "FOREVER"!
Holy Joe, Mad Max, and God...
